About Seaworld Group
To succeed – you need to do the right things often enough and long enough
On the customer service front, we have, if I may say so, totally gone by the saying of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, that “the customer is our God”. We have always believed in providing a totally satisfactory level of service to our principals and their clients. This is what has been mainly instrumental in us building a world class Organisation with a strong client base. Another most important factor for efficient handling of the Tramp/Liner Shipping business is the ability to focus, in a balanced manner, on each and every aspect of our involvement with principals, vis-à-vis marketing, operations and finance. Our enduring relationship with principals and their repeated acknowledgement of our having handled various issues most efficiently/successfully, on their behalf locally and internationally provides an ample proof of their continued confidence in us.
Mr. Vaishnav Puri, our Founder, is considered to be a legend and icon in the field of Shipping in India. His two-decade long association with NOL/APL in the capacity of Executive Chairman and majority stakeholder in the joint venture for their Indian network, itself, is ample testimony to that stature. His visionary leadership played a pivotal role in elevating the Indian Liner Maritime Industry globally. Mr. Puri received prestigious awards and recognition from various bodies, including the Government of India and Singapore. The Government of Singapore also acknowledged his leadership by appointing him as Honorary Trade Representative of Singapore in Mumbai, a position he held for an unprecedented period of 20 years. During his tenure, he was also a member of the prestigious India Advisory Council. Notably, he was instrumental in reshaping JNPT in 1991 and was also instrumental in commencing the very first direct liner service from India to USA. Mr. Puri held another rare feat. He was conferred with the "Lifetime Achievement Award" on five occasions by the shipping fraternity/leading maritime publications for his enormous contributions to the industry.
- The Honourable Mr. Piyush Goyal, Minister Of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Textiles, Government of India on Mr. Vaishnav Puri

About Seaworld-Samrat Organisations:
Seaworld-Samrat Group is owned/managed by the Puri Family. The Group’s main focus/strength has been liner shipping and Mr. Puri is considered to be one of the most respected/successful professional in this field in India, with an enviable track record of having represented some of the largest liner shipping companies in the world, including NOL/APL in the capacity of Executive Chairman and majority stakeholder in the joint venture for their Indian network for almost two decades.
Simultaneously, the Puri Group developed a totally dedicated agency network for Contship and later CP Ships. At one stage, in the late 1990s / early 2000s when Mr. Puri was heading both the organizations, he was responsible for generating/handling almost 20% of India’s total containerized traffic which clearly reflected the market strength of the Group (during all these years, a leading market share was developed and maintained in major trade lanes for all the principals represented by the Group).
India has, over the years, emerged as a large trader in bulk commodities e.g. coal, iron ore, manganese ore, agriculture products and crude oil/petroleum etc. Foreseeing such potential, Seaworld have, in the last decade or so, diversified into the field of handling tramp business (dry and liquid bulk vessel) also and have already been very successful in developing/maintaining a significant volume of business to be able to retain its prominence as one of the largest shipping agency houses, representing several leading ship owners and traders in the world, with an average monthly traffic of about 200 vessels/calls i.e. about 2,500 vessels/calls per annum. In a service industry, it is most important to develop a strong and professional management team and this is what has been responsible for Seaworld’s continued success in providing total satisfaction to their clients in India and principals abroad.
