Seaworld is a founder shareholder of Seaworld Express Lines Ltd. (SEL) a non asset Based Container Shipping Line, headquartered in U.K., offering world wide coverage for above services. Annual estimated traffic handled: 35-40,000 TEUs.
Terminal Management ( Express Ocean Terminal Services Pvt. Ltd. )
Major Clients include CMA CGM, Hapag Llyod, APL, Hamburg Sud & Sea Consortium. Terminal and Vessel management of 3 weekly departures of Indamex and other alliances from Nhava Sheva. Annual export throughput appx 200,000 TEUs. It is a 50:50 J.V between The Puri group & CMA CGM. The day-to-day management of this company has always, since its inception in 1995, rested with the Puri Group.
Port Agency
Full Port Agency services (Charterers agents, Owners Protecting agents, vessel husbanding etc) for leading ship owners, operators, charterers & trading houses for handling all types of vessels (Dry bulk, Crude, Products & Chemicals, LPG & LNG, Liner, RO/RO, Breakbulk,Project, navy frigates, General cargo, Cruise & Offshore), over 2500 calls annually.
Multimodal Operations ( Transindia Cargo Systems Pvt. Ltd. )
Domestic Road Container transport in Nhava Sheva and domestic contractual long haul trucking, Container storage, Repairs & Maintenance facilities.It has a strong Asset base of own trailers & 25 acres of owned land in Shirdon near Nhava Sheva.
Liner Shipping
The Puri Group / Seaworld have a very strong liner shipping background of over four decades,
during which they have represented some of the largest liner companies in the world,
including APL/NOL, Contship, CP ships, Lykes Lines etc. (exclusive sales/booking of import/
export liner/ containerized cargo to/ from India and handling of containerized vessels as well
as all shore-based activities).
At one point in time, with their most aggressive, and yet responsible marketing efforts, the
group was able to secure for each and every principal leading market share in almost all the
major trade lanes e.g. India-USA, India-Europe, India-South East Asia and Far East, which
resulted in their covering almost 20% of the entire Indian containerized liner traffic.
In the last decade, almost all major shipping lines have set up their own offices in India and this
has had a serious adverse impact on all those involved in the liner shipping agency business.
Seaworld were no different, but they were most certainly one of the last to be affected as even
till 2007, they were, on behalf of CP Ships, handling, on an average, about a quarter million
TEUs a year covering all major trade lanes. The disengagement with the lines represented
has been amicable and Puri Group / Seaworld still continues their long standing association
with these companies for other services.
